FIRST TIME HERE?

01 / WHAT TO EXPECT

Never climbed before? No worries! Just come to the 5150 Rock Gym, and one of our helpful staff members will be happy to help you out.

All new climbers receive a tour of the facility, a quick intro on gym etiquette, and a bouldering-specific fall training to keep you comfortable should you choose to push your limits!

Most first timers choose to purchase a day pass (see info below) but memberships are offered as well. A staff member can fill you in on all the details once you arrive, or you can check them out below.

02 / WHAT TO BRING

We recommend a few things:

A waiver must be filled out before climbing (see below)
Bring comfortable, athletic clothing
If you choose to wear your own shoes, they must be closed-toe
You can also try out our rental shoes, just be sure to bring socks

03 / MINIMUM AGE?

Nope, as long as your kid can walk they can climb! Children under 5 years of age can even climb for free with a paying adult. We have kids size shoes and youth routes to challenge your child. However, we do ask that anyone under the age of 14 is supervised by an adult.

04 / WHEN TO CLIMB

Weekdays before 5pm and weekends are the least busy times, but you're welcome to join us anytime! Our normal gym hours are:

Monday - Friday: 2pm - 9pm

Saturday: 2pm-10pm

Sunday: Closed

WHAT WE OFFER

COLLEGE CREDIT

Looking for a new activity to try next quarter? Beginners Climbing is the perfect opportunity to try indoor climbing and push yourself to new heights each week. You will learn basic climbing technique as well as how to belay a partner on Top Rope. Class activities include Top Rope climbing and Bouldering (Climbing below 15 ft without a rope). You may take Beginners Climbing up to three times for credit.
